Constanze Ruhm in conversation with Laura Mulvey
Wednesday 25 March 2015, 18:30–20:00
Building upon their ongoing dialogue, artist and author Constanze Ruhm and film theorist Laura Mulvey will discuss projection as a cinematographic mechanism and a psychoanalytic concept. This notion is at the centre of both Ruhm’s current project INVISIBLE PRODUCERS and Mulvey’s recent reflections on the repressed of the cinematic apparatus. Ruhm and Mulvey will consider how notions of projection have been crucial to the development of their own work and how digital technologies may shift our understanding of projection itself and other key concepts of film theory and practice.
